Throughout the year, we offer learning opportunities for our young people. The predominant opportunity is during the Sunday Morning Worship celebrations. We begin with the church family gathering in the sanctuary for worship. Part way through the service, the children, youth and their leaders are invited to leave for church school (Cawthra Kids Camp). We are currently using the "Seasons of the Spirit" curriculum which is an age appropriate learning tool. During camp time, the younger children gather together, sing songs, learn the lesson for the day and engage in crafts, drama and music. Some of the special projects created by our young people include "Noah's Ark", the "Really BIG Fish", Peace and Healing Banners and life-size biblical characters! The goal we strive to meet is to make this learning time the best 40 minutes of our kids' week!
This year we will be offering both a High School Age Youth Group as well as a Jr. High Group (starting age 10 and up). Each group will meet once per month and there will also be opportunities to join with other youth from our sister churches for other activities.
We are also pleased to sponsor Sparks, Brownies (meet Monday night at 6:30 pm) and Guides (meet Wednesday night at 6:30 pm) through Girl Guides of Canada. We have been a long time sponsor of the 23rd Mississauga Scout troop and hope to resume that role if meeting locations are needed.
