Worship

Our primary worship celebration takes place on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am. All ages gather in the sanctuary for the beginning of our service. At an appropriate time our children and youth and their leaders are invited to leave the sanctuary and take part in their Christian Education and Development Programs. All ages gather together in the auditorium after the service for a time of refreshment and fellowship.

Banner of Our Hands

In addition, several times throughout the year, we offer "All Ages Services" where Christians of all ages stay together to offer worship and praise as one body. These services tend to be a bit more interactive and have produced prayer chains, a banner of our hands, dream-catchers and other symbols which reflect our worship celebrations!

Communion: On the first Sunday of each month, all are invited to share the feast of our faith - the communion meal. At Cawthra Park we believe that any person who wants to participate in the Sacrament of Communion may do so. To ensure this welcome truly reflects God's love and grace, we try to be sensitive to the needs of one another. In deference to allergies and preference, we serve both bread and rice cakes. The choice of de-alcoholized wine, grape juice or water is also given.

Healing Service: At noon on the first Sunday of the month, after the time of our regular worship and fellowship time, a healing service which includes an anointing of oil and a laying on of hands is offered to all in our community. This quiet reflective time of prayer and openness to the healing love of God, restores body, mind and spirit.

Sanctuary

Baptisms: We are pleased to be able offer the Sacrament of Baptism (including Infant Baptism). We require that a baptismal visitation by the parents or the person desiring to be baptized, take place with the minister and at least one member of our baptismal committee. A review of the promises made in the service is made and if you are willing to make those promises personally or on behalf of your infant, a suitable time will be arranged for the baptism to take place during the Sunday morning worship service. We encourage your attendance and commitment to the ministry of Cawthra Park.

Weddings: As part of our ministry to our community we are pleased to offer wedding services in our church. The sanctuary at Cawthra Park is quite unique - circular in shape, with a five sided steeple. Seating will accommodate approximately 200 people and musical accompaniment can also be arranged. If you would like information about weddings at Cawthra Park, please phone the office and a brochure will be forwarded to you.

Funerals: An integral part of our ministry is offering the use of our church and the ministry of our minister to those who are bereaved in our community. Please call to speak with our minister for more information.

We are not alone...
